Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the response. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you send an email, we retain it as needed to answer. Messages remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view times and visit duration
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- IP address assigned to the device
- Pages viewed during the visit
- Referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic in aggregate, including popular pages and common exit points. You can block cookies through browser settings, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Maintaining site speed, function, and availability
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Measuring which pages are useful or need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Gage County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Gage County sheriff and jail, the local court clerks, the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into third-party records or consumer reports. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through one is governed by that company's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Read those terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Gage County offices, Nebraska agencies, court portals, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to tailor ads. That tracking occurs through the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed to:
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a query you submit
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when compelled by a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for the information we collect. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied personal data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights over personal data depend on the law that applies to you. Nebraska's Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, governs access to records held by public bodies, while Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523 limits public dissemination of certain criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government record custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Seek deletion when the governing law provides that right
- Opt out of qualifying forms of data processing
